Welcome!

Welcome to the website of the Winston-Salem Youth Orchestras!
We hope that this site can be of help and interest to you no matter
who you are--a member, a parent, a potential audience member, a
sponsor, or simply a person interested in our organization from
around the world.  I, David Hagy, am the Artistic Director of the
organization.  We are sponsored by a Parents Association Board
(PAB), the Winston-Salem Symphony, the North Carolina School
of the Arts Music Department, and the Wake Forest University
Music Department.  The organization currently has two orchestras,
the Winston-Salem Youth Philharmonic (WSYP), our advanced
orchestra conducted by Margaret Rehder, and the Winston-Salem
Youth Symphony (WSYS), our most advanced orchestra which I
conduct. 

Both perform major programs three to four times annually.  We are
in the process of developing our website to include almost all
information in which you might be interested.  Our performance and
rehearsal schedules are included and we hope you will attend
(especially if you are members of the orchestras!).  As a student
player of an orchestral instrument or simply as someone interested
in exciting musical performances I encourage you to learn more
about our organization and become involved with the
WINSTON-SALEM YOUTH ORCHESTRAS!
